I have been a user of Seventh Generation products for over a year. In the case of this company, they actually do produce products which have a smaller impact on the environment. The dishwasher cleaning product, for example, is manufactured without phosphorous. This is important. Our wastewater eventually find its way into our streams, lakes, reservoirs, and eventually back into our drinking water. Phosphorous promotes algae growth which degrades water quality. Recently, Westchester County, NY, where I live, has enacted laws to phase out the use of phosphorous containing lawn fertilizer. Seventh Generation has taken the phosphorous out of dish cleaner in this new product. This will improve our water quality.I saved a load of dishes in anticipation of the arrival of the Seventh Generation dish cleaner. It comes in conveniently premeasured packets. I just plopped a packet into the dishwasher and washed normally. The results were excellent. I have hard water which has dissolved minerals, but there were no residues on my glasses. Everything was clean. This dish cleaner comes in plain and lemon. I have tried both now. They both work equally well. Clearly, Seventh Generation has produced a functional and environmental sound product. This product is sold on Amazon on several different pages. I suggest that you look for the best deal.
