Product: DishwasherManufacturer: KitchenAidPN: KUDS03FTSS0Problem: Warped detergent dispenser cover. Warped severely during a cycle and won't latch shut anymore.Part Ordered: WPW10199696Cost: $65First off, I received my first order and the detergent dispenser cover appeared warped. See pictures. It looked possible that it would work, but I wanted to try a replacement just in case it was just a defect. My suspicion was that it is a process problem with manufacturing of that part and it warps a bit as it cools. Turns out I was correct, as the replacement part had the same issue. I decided to proceed anyway since it is an OEM part and I'm not sure any other source would be different. The part pictured is not accurate in color. Several other reviews and comments have mentioned this as well. My original part is dark grey in color, just like the one pictured, however I received a part that is lighter grey in color. See pictures. It seems to match closer to the bottom wire rack. See repair info below, but now I have a two-toned detergent dispenser. Oh well, who cares. Finally, for the repair, I thought maybe I could just remove the dispenser cover and not install the whole thing and I was correct. I applied horizontal pressure on the non-spring side and popped it out horizontally. I did the same on the warped one and then popped the new one back in. Voila! Done in 2 minutes. $65 for a plastic cover doesn't thrill me, but at least I have a working dishwasher again.4 Stars due to the incorrect color description and the slightly warped cover, neither of which are yet believed to affect the functionality. I will update if something goes wrong in the near future.Good luck.I ordered the wrong version of this soap dispenser. I contacted Sun Parts, who replied immediately and were able to tell me which part I really needed for my machine. They quickly accepted my return request and I received the correct replacement a day ahead of the delivery window. The new part is installed and working. Great service, thanks.Product is a perfect fit, but the plastic catch that holds the door shut is literally about 1/16"-1/8" thick. It barely holds the door shut - do not have confidence in this lasting too long, but it works. The door latch is actually held by an actuator that is behind the whole contraption that uses water pressure to move the latch to open. Some folks here have said they just replaced the door, but for me the actuator was broken. This took me about 20 mins to take the whole front door of the washer off the hinges, unplug the wires and remove the old compartment. It took longer for me to find a small enough socket (I think 3/32"?) to unscrew the bolts that secure this, than it did to take everything apart. 2 washes later and no issues. After installing this item in the inside of my Kitchen Aid dishwasher door, I noticed the top edge was not flush with the dishwasher wall leaving a gap. After examining this soap dispenser, I noticed it did not have a straight edge which caused the gap. I was concern this would cause a leak but so far, no leaks. Secondly, after a couple of weeks, I found it extremely difficult to get the door to close on this soap dispenser. I'm expecting this part will either break or the lid will just stop closing. The hook on the lid on my original unit wore out. I have a KitchenAid Stainless washer that's probably 10 years old. I watched youtube videos on how to replace it. It was relatively easy. That was almost two years ago. Now the same hook on the flip lid (what else would you call it?) had worn out and is close to breaking off again. I need to replace it again! In June of 2017 it cost around 50 to 55 dollars. Now it's $20 bucks more. Honestly I'm irritated, but what do you do? I don't want to replace my entire machine. I checked prices on several sites and this was just about at cheap as any. Good luck. I hope the next part replacement last longer. :/Bought this replacement soap dispenser due to failure of my original soap dispenser. The plastic "catch" that locked the door down broke and the door would no longer shut. This unit was easy to install and was a great price. Only issue is with the door catch on this unit. It does not easily lock down on the plastic. Need to play around opening and closing to get it to lock down. Would have sent it back but wasn't worth the effort to uninstall, send back, wait for replacement and reinstall. Works but door is tricky locking down.Worked perfectly to replace the original one; the lid latch broke.Original purchase 12/201610/2019 update. The dispenser worked fine for more than 2 years, it started to leak a couple of months ago. Different issue this time, but seems like an expensive part to replace more than once in the life of the dishwasher. I replaced the drain pump a few months back for less than $30 (also easy to replace)Whirlpool W10199696 Detergent DispenserIt worked for awhile but then failed. I believe the dishwasher main controller is burning up the plunger solenoid that opens the soap dispenser. So in my case I need to buy a new dishwasher. Just realize that sometimes repairs don’t solve the problem. The door lock in my MayTag dishwasher broke and it needed replacement .I contacted the Manufacturer and they quoted me for 150 CAN plus tax and shipping.I checked the manufacturer authorized part seller and I visited them for replacement and they quoted me for 160 CAD plus tax.so I decided to go ahead and buy this dispenser . After installing it , it worked and still working perfectly .I recommend it but make sure that it compatible with your dishwasherIt fits perfectly but the door that holds the dishwasher tab was warped a bit and doesn't close very goodFits perfectly but still does not fix my problem. I believe it’s the motherboard instead.Doesn't stay closed. There's a gap in one side, so it's defective.Work great ?
